In our last conversation about Epiphany, we were talking about being you, the same old you. Perhaps that means that you have let something go or let something that was once important to you drop off due to life being what it is. Maybe this is the time to pick it back up again?
Part of being the same old you is to remember that you once had many dreams, thoughts, ideas about what you might do with your “one wild and precious life”. What might those things have been? Was there something you wanted to try or do again that seemed cool but you have just forgotten about it?
In my life, I have always wanted to make time for mindfulness/meditation. Just taking time for my overthinking mind to take a break. Perhaps learn some tools to help with overwhelm and relaxation, always. So, I have pulled at that practice once again and now I have re-added it to my life. What might be your thing?
Remember, you don’t have to wait until the new year to make changes or try something new, life can be rearranged at anytime for yourself.
If those dreams, ideas, thoughts are no longer viable it is okay also to let them die. No need to give something life support if it does not warrant your time or energy. As we wrap this epiphany content in time for a new liturgical season, let’s continue to venture forward, not because we cannot nor should not look back to the past, but because life is cyclical and will come back around again.
