Polis vs Partisanship

So this feels pretty full circle for me. Let me explain… I started this lovely podcast that because this Substack over a few years ago; and he here we are about to dive back into the topic of my former dissertation. Sort of.

While at a church forum, we were discussing the concept of Paul and his discipleship and how he was very rooted in the teachings of Jesus and that he wanted his fellow people to also adhere to those teachings as well. He was writing his letters to Philippi, Colossian, Ephesus and other places and being delighted and disappointed in their progress. The main thing that people were not keeping the main thing was the teachings of Jesus and they were misinterpreting them for their own needs.
